These are the people who prevent you getting out of your driveway if you live on Countess Road, Amesbury as drivers try to divert out of that queue and rat run through local villages, making the lives of residents a nightmare especially the High Street in the village of Shrewton with it's unsuitable roads.....more of that later!
These are the people who have not taken on board the fact that the A303 in it's present state, cuts right through their beloved World Heritage Site and continue to spread ambiguous "facts" to their followers all around the world, many of whom don't have a clue where Stonehenge is, far less the World Heritage Site that surrounds it!!
These are the people who continually say it's someone else's responsibility and not theirs though they manage to filch £88,000 from their followers, to take the government to court and stop the project progressing.
These are the people who are again looking for yet more money as we speak to continue their personal fight providing misleading information that they see as fact and I quote: "Despite today’s fantastic victory, the battle may not be over. The Secretary of State may appeal against the judgement or, possibly, amend the scheme. Nevertheless, we will fight on for our World Heritage Site, if necessary, and hope you are prepared to stand by us!"
These are the people who refuse to take on board, real facts and figures as I'm about to post here and because I'm sure many of you will not want to study these facts in detail, basically this is what they amount to: The SID reports are measured in half hour segments showing max speeds on the far right....these figures will surprise and possibly upset a number of my readers.
21st - 28th July 2021 Meadway A360 Shrewton... both directions vehicles counted: 41,151 Max speed 66 mph Northbound Max speed 68 mph Southbound
11th - 15th August 2021 A360 Westbound out of Shrewton toward A390 Chittern both directions vehicles counted: 20,356 Max speed 65 mph South bound Max speed 99 mph West bound
27th - 29th August 2021 Bank Holiday London Road Shrewton both directions vehicles counted: 9,854 and this is only part of the London Road story. Annoyingly, the batteries ran out, on the SID part way through the weekend 😖 it happens! Max speed 69 mph West bound Max speed 53 mph East bound So! in just 15.5 days 71,361 plus vehicles accessed our village of Shrewton!! This figure is obviously short due to the batteries running out of the London Road SID on 29th August at 12.30pm. So, with a further 35 hours to run including the Bank Holiday Monday it would perhaps be wrong to try and best guess the final figure but the 9,854 should more likely have another 7000 minimum vehicles added.
This whole area needs the A303 fixed past Stonehenge before our community becomes.....
"undiscovered archaeology"!!! 😂
