SUMMER SOLSTICE 2020 IS CANCELLED!

'Please don't travel' to Stonehenge warning ahead of summer solstice

The yearly festival at the heritage is cancelled due to the corona virus
On Tuesday 16th 2 members of STAG: Stonehenge Traffic Action Group will attend a ZOOM meeting with regard to the CANCELLATION of this year's Summer Solstice.   The presentation will be given by Superintendent Phil Staynings and Inspector Liz Coles.   Nichola Tasker, Stonehenge Director and English Heritage security consultant, Duncan Robertson, will also be in attendance.
We shall be provided with the detail as to what is proposed to prevent people coming into the area in the light of the present Covid 19 pandemic.
There will be NO PARKING at Stonehenge and our question to the police will be to establish what measures will be in place, should these vehicles/people come to the area anyway, and park up in local villages especially Shrewton, as has been the case in the past prior to the current arrangement for summer solstice.
So! PLEASE DO NOT COME TO OUR VILLAGE!
With the current situation vis Covid 19, you may be endangering yourself or worse.....our villagers who have followed government advice and remained in LOCKDOWN!
The sun rise can be experienced anywhere in Britain, so please drive to an open space and keep social distances......but please do not come here!!!!

Our village has been mostly safe up to now. We need to keep it that way!
